Consists of the first letters of “Underwriters Laboratories”. It was established in the Illinois State of the USA, 1894.It is an independent organization which performs evaluations regarding product tests determining the Product Security standards with its Quality Management Systems.

It is a statutory obligation for a product to be sold in the market of the European Union to bear CE Mark if such products are included in the scope of one or several European Union Directives.

ATEX

It is related to the equipment and systems operating in possible explosive atmospheres and referred to as 94/9/EC Directive. Atex is the abbreviated form of Atmosphere and Explosive words.As of July 2003, EU organizations have established directives in order to protect the employees against explosion risks in explosive atmospheres.
